It can depend on many things from level of activity to diet – it has taken me 10 years at my “normal” activity to get back to “pre-baby” my metabolism is slow and I don’t do aerobics (never have). I have a well balanced diet and recently discovered that I am food allergic (nightshades). Once i removed the food allergen my waist came back. She could do as I did and see a natreaupath and discuss dietary changes to effect the desired change as well as improve her overall health.

If it’s extra skin she’s dealing with, there is nothing she can do to get rid of it short of getting a tummy tuck. I’ve been dealing with the same problem for almost 7 years. I’ve lost all the weight and was told by my doctor that without a tummy tuck, even if I lost MORE weight, it would just look worse.

Go for walks with her and the babies… take care of the kids while she goes to the gym. Basically give her the support she needs to do what she needs to do.
Breastfeeding is great for weight loss. And if she hasn’t got time to get out to the gym, maybe workout videos are a good idea. Mom/tot yoga and swimming are also great ideas!

Exercise with her. Or care for the baby so she can exercise.
